Staycation

So, over a month ago, Tyler's sister and her family came up to visit for a week. Don't know what took me so long to get this post up, but better late than never! 

We had so much fun, and did so many different things. Here's a picture overload to document the occasion. (More for my own memory than anything else.)

--Deception Pass:

 Taking a ferry ride to Orcas Island in the San Juans after Deception Pass. We didn't get to see much, but it was fun!

--The "dirt hole" in our backyard. It had finally dried out enough that the dirt was soft and the kids could be found any moment of the day playing here.

 --Woodland Park Zoo:

The weather was perfect and a lot of the animals were out and active.

The bears were probably the funnest exhibit. They were "fishing" right in front of our eyes.

 The boys loved the penguins too. The exhibit has these bubbles that extend out into the water, and the boys thought for sure that they were going to fall in! The penguins came right up close.

There was also a "dinosaur" exhibit with motorized dinosaurs. I stayed out with Clayton, who had fallen asleep after bumping his head. Kaden thought the dinosaurs were pretty cool. We heard either Kaden or Jaren say when they saw the T-Rex earlier in the day, "What?! I didn't know dinosaurs were still alive!!" I think they figured it out by the end of the day. 

This jaguar is so pretty - amazing, really.

-The Paul Allen Warbirds Musuem. The airplanes were pretty neat. Very nice facilities.

**warning: tangent --> I was really impressed with the family/little kid friendliness of it all. The gray barriers around the airplanes prevented any kids from running right up close (which they have done at other museums that just have ropes around the planes. those are pointless.) and in the restrooms, they had benches with pillows. If all public restrooms were this nice, I wouldn't be so leery of them.

--Snoqualmie Falls:

We also visited the Locks in Ballard, hiked to Kelcema lake and had lunch, and just really enjoyed spending time together. Thanks for coming Eron and Michelle! Miss you guys and your cute boys.
