a one year old

Clayton turned one year old this week. He is so much fun at this age; but I am constantly getting him out of the bathroom and trying to keep track of him. He is one busy kid.

I made farm animal cupcakes for his "cake". The recipe said to use 2 9" rounds for the pasture, 1 pound cake for the barn, 3 cupcakes for a silo, and cupcakes for the animals. Do you understand that that is 3 (THREE!) cakes? Ugh. No thank you. Good thing we had a barn, toy fencing, and a green tablecloth. We never would have been able to eat that much cake. And it's not that good, either.

But the animals were so fun to make, and they were very easy. The big boys had fun helping, and eating the leftover candy.

I made a banana split cake for the adults. Much better than a cake mix! It was yummy.

Clayton loved his cake so much, that he crumbled it up and threw about half of it on the floor. He was having too much fun. Of course, we were laughing at him. But now, it's funny all the time, especially during dinner, when I don't think it's very funny. :)

The tiny ear warmers are so cute! He also tries to put the camo hat on all by himself. It usually doesn't stay on for very long, but hopefully he'll get used to it. Thanks so much Aunt and Grandma!
Thanks to everyone else for the gifts. It was a fun day.
He is such a joy to have in our family!

The Birthday Boy is so cute and the farm animal cupcakes are so clever! The banana split cake looks so yummy! What a fun day for all. You need a puppy for all the crumbs on the floor-just kidding!
