the 4th

My parents and three siblings came up for the 4th of July, to see the craziness and insanity that is Marysville on that holiday. They weren't disappointed.

We went to Boom City in the morning. A temporary village pops up a few weeks before the holiday on the Indian Reservation on the other side of the freeway. All they do is sell fireworks. Lots and lots of fireworks. And I saw people walking around with cigarettes burning...that made me feel real safe!

Then we took them to the new Cabela's store. Fun as always. A backyard barbecue was next on the list. We had some steelhead and salmon. Yum!

Clayton kept asking for more "cornbread". He meant corn-on-the-cob. Funny kid.

Then we headed down to our friends', the Langfords, who put on a really good show. We watched some little ones in the street before it got dark, and did sparklers.

Once it got dark, we went into the backyard where the real show began. It was awesome. Always impressive, and pretty insane to see everyone doing their own show right in their own yards.

Grateful to live in this beautiful, free country!
