Mini-Baja

Tyler's last semester of college before he graduated included a capstone project. A group of engineers had to build a mini-baja car, and then race it against other cars from other colleges. That year, the race was in Washougal, down by the WA-OR border, just north of Portland.

Well, this year the race was down there again, and a couple of interns that have worked with Tyler were on the team. So, he wanted to go down and watch, as a spectator this time. He took Kaden and Jaren, and they camped nearby for the weekend.
It had been raining the whole week prior, so the entire track was just a mud pit. They had to shut down a good portion of it because it was just too soggy.

These two weren't bored. At all.

This is the BYU-Idaho car. Sadly, it didn't do too well.

Back at the campground, the boys had more fun. Eating, watching the baby geese, and fishing.

I don't think they caught anything, but that's not entirely the point of fishing, is it?

On the way home, they saw Mt St Helens for the first time. They had a good father/son weekend. Clayton and I did some shopping, weeding in the garden, and starting yet another house project. :)
