Sorry this is so late. I got wrapped up in making strawberry jam, and feeling like I'm going to faint. Maybe I am getting high on strawberries.

Now on the the gardening:

To keep your flowers blooming longer, 'dead-head' just as the blooms start to fade. This will promote more flowers to bloom. Just cut the flower off right at the next 'intersection' where leaves/stems are. Does that make sense? You don't want a stem just hanging there; it can promote disease and insects attacking it. Most flowering plants respond to dead-heading, but some you won't want to attempt it.

**disclaimer: this is just a suggestion, not a requirement. Many plants will bloom just as long. It all depends on how much work you want/can do.
